Disciples Active in Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival

The Disciples Center for Public Witness invites you to join GMP Rev. Teresa Hord Owens and other Disciples who will be participating in these events in DC and elsewhere.

On Monday May 14th, Disciples minister Dr. William Barber, III, and other religious leaders will lead people of faith and conscience in Forty Days of Moral Action. Taking place in the US Capitol and over 30 states across the US, the moral actions—which will include civil disobedience by some leaders—are part of the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival.

Training for those in the DC area who are interested in participating in nonviolent direct action will take place at 10 am at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church on 301 A Street SE. The main event for everyone will take place on the US Capitol Lawn at 2 PM.

If you’re not coming to DC or have friends and family in other parts of the country, please use this interactive map to find events near you or them. Also you can text MORAL to 90975.
